We’re working to make a more sustainable world through the magic of keeping bees.
Our Bee Beginning
Inspired by its founders love for urban beekeeping, The Humble Apiarist is a collective community designed to educate, connect and encourage people to establish their own hive. We believe bees are our keepers, and that a thriving population has the power to change the world. That’s why it’s our mission to help more people become beekeepers in their own backyards, safely and with utmost respect to nature’s most miraculous creature - the humble honeybee.
“Urban beekeeping encourages a happy and healthy community, and it’s something anyone can become a part of.”
— BRADLEY WHITTAKER, FOUNDER
Hive art.
We’ve created a movement to raise awareness of good beekeeping practice. These insanely talented artists were given a hive to do whatever they liked with, whether it’s paint, sketch, etch or carve. The results are pretty amazing, so take a look!
Our Mission
Bee populations are reducing drastically around the world. While this problem hasn’t landed in Australia, we want to safeguard our future by helping more people understand that bees aren’t a pest, aren’t dangerous and should be treasured, not eradicated. We provide beekeeping information to anyone who’s thinking of getting started, hive installation and safe hive removal and rehoming. We also encourage education through regular events and workshops.
38
countries around the world consume Australian honey
1 third
of the food we eat requires pollination by bees
20,000
registered beekeepers reside in Australia - will you join them?
